Description

Injectable stimulator of natural collagen production based on poly-L-lactic acid

What is PLLA?

  • Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) is a fatty polyester that is a polymer of the L-form of lactic acid, synthesized from monomers derived from natural resources (cornflour)1.
  • Lactic acid is found in the human body and is also synthesized by lactic acid bacteria 2.

MIRALINE PLLA28 ingredients 3:

Polylactic acid 150 mg (active ingredient)

Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose 50 mg (suspending agent for uniform distribution of PLLA particles in the solution)

Mechanism of action

  • PLLA acts in the deep layers of the skin to provide soft tissue thickening by stimulating collagen synthesis 4.
  • As collagen is produced, it restores the structure of the skin, replenishes lost volume and smoothes deep wrinkles and folds 4.
  • The external effect of the use of PLLA can be observed up to two or more years 5.
  • Carboxymethylcellulose biodegrades 1–2 weeks after injection, reducing the volume of the filler, which is restored after 4–8 weeks due to the production of collagen and restoration of skin structure 6.

MIRALINE PLLA28 is:

Natural biodegradation 1 Natural substrates 7 Proven safety 7
PLLA undergoes complete biodegradation by hydrolysis into lactic acid monomers, which in turn are metabolized to carbon dioxide and water during the Krebs cycle reactions. Environmentally friendly materials synthesized using monomers from renewable natural resources and raw materials (corn). The material is characterized by proven safety.

Specification 7

Particle shape Spherical porous particles with a smooth surface
Particle size 25–50 µm (25,000–40,000 Da)
Protocol of procedures 3–4 times with a gap of 4–6 weeks
Recommendations after the procedure Massage of the injection area for 5 minutes 5 times a day for 5 days
Additional correction Based on examination not earlier than 4 weeks after the first procedure
The onset of the effect In 10 days
Effect duration 18 ~ 24 months
Storage conditions 2 to 30 °C

ü  Efficiency 7

· Relatively low content of carboxymethylcellulose (25 %) and high content of PLLA (75 %) increases the effect of collagen stimulation and the effectiveness of the product

ü  Safety 7

· Reduced particle size minimizes discomfort associated with the PLLA injection

· The content of porous spherical particles of elliptical shape with a smooth surface prevents aggregation of the product after injection

· The particles are spherical and tightly packed together, which prevents crystallinity from increasing during PLLA degradation and improves the safety profile.
